Lewis E. Ball II, ASA, CPA, CMA
Mr. Ball is a graduate of the University of Texas (BBA-Finance) and holds certificates as a Certified Public Accountant and as a Certified Management Accountant.
During his professional career, he worked with Ernst & Young, CPAs in auditing and management consulting. His diverse clients included manufacturers and distributors of energy-related equipment and services, brokerage firms construction firms, retail establishments and real estate developers. He then joined a Houston-based company, Stewart & Stevenson Services, Inc., as chief financial officer and director. He directed their initial public offering and arranged a significant amount of financing during a rapid-growth period. Mr. Ball then joined a Houston-based public company, Richmond Tank Car Company, and its subsidiary, Richmond Leasing Company, as Vice President - Finance. During a period of economic downturn, he negotiated proposed refinancing and restructuring and later, as President, directed the liquidation of the Company and its subsidiary.
Mr. Ball joined Davis/Chambers & Company, Ltd. in 1999 and has been involved in over 110 valuations of Family Limited Partnerships and small and medium-sized businesses. He was a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) and has attended the NACVA's CVA Training Center in 1999. He received the CVA designation in September 1999, but has since dropped the designation.
Mr. Ball has served as a financial consultant to small, fast-growing high-technology companies specializing in electronic commerce and integrated networking which have become public companies. He serves as a Director and audit committee chair of IQ Biometrix, Inc., (facial compression software). He has also served as Chief Financial Officer of HyperDynamics Corporation (integrated networking).
Mr. Ball is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Texas Society of CPAs and is active in civic affairs. In 2004, he became an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) of the American Society of Appraisers. He is a Trustee of the Houston Museum of Natural Science and has served on the Executive Board of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Mr. Ball is also a member of the Houston Estate and Financial Forum.
